3s: 3 players that they’re targeting(probably) with their 1st pick, the 3 players they should avoid, the 3 positions that they must address in this draft

Carolina Panthers:
3 players that they’re targeting(probably) with their 1st pick:
Cam Newton, Marcell Dareus, AJ Green. They’re clearly looking for a player who can provide an immediate impact.
3 players they should avoid(and why):
Cam Newton-Newton probably will be a disaster in the WCO that Carolina is going to institute.
Robert Quinn-I like Quinn, but not in the system that they want to run.
Von Miller-Miller is a fantastic prospect, but they’re loaded at LB already.
3 positions that they must address in this draft:
QB(Jimmy the Pickle isn’t the answer, WR(Smith is on his way out of town and LaFell isn’t a prime WR), OG(Gross/Otah are quality, they need to solidify that line)

Denver Broncos
3 players that they’re targeting(probably) with their 1st pick:
Robert Quinn, Patrick Peterson, Marcell Dareus. They think that they’ve gotten the offense figured out in Denver(I don’t totally agree with that), but that defense is an old wreck.
3 players they should avoid:
Cam Newton-They have tebow already
Nick Fairley-he has conditioning problems and that doesn’t go well with their atmosphere
Tyron Smith-they’re already set at Oline)
3 positions that they must address in this draft:
DT(They don’t have much here), OLB(see DT) and CB(Champ is a corpse, the rest of that secondary is the Walking Dead)

Buffalo Bills
3 players that they’re targeting(probably) with their 1st pick:
Von Miller, Marcell Dareus and Patrick Peterson. Despite all the Newton rumors, they badly need to fix a defense that was poor last season.
3 players they should avoid:
Cam Newton-they run more of a spread, but without running
Patrick Peterson-not on talent, I just don’t think that he’s a good fit for their defense at all
Robert Quinn-doesn’t have a position in that defense
3 positions that they must address in this draft:
DL(Stroud leaving opens up a big hole), CB(McKelvin is a major bust) and LT(name their LT without looking it up)

Cincinnati Bengals
3 players that they’re targeting(probably) with their 1st pick:
Nick Fairley, Cam Newton and Blaine Gabbert. The Bengals are trying to recreate their magic from the Dunlap pick last year. Expect them to swing for the fences in the 1st round.
3 players they should avoid:
Cam Newton, Nick Fairley and Ryan Mallett. None of these players would thrive in the shit storm that is the Bengals organization.
3 positions that they must address in this draft:
QB(Palmer is done one way or the other), DT(I like some of their guys here, but they need much more) and WR(MeO and Ochopele are done in Cincy)

Arizona Cardinals
3 players that they’re targeting(probably) with their 1st pick:
Blaine Gabbert(the rookies from last year aren’t the answer), Von Miller(They miss a pass rush) and Marces Dareus(Dockett needs more than C. Campbell).
3 players they should avoid:
AJ Green-talented, but he has to be the main target wherever he goes
Ryan Mallet-Tempting with his cannon, but that oline would kill him
Julio Jones-not on talent, but they need more than just a WR upgrade(this also applies to Green)
3 positions that they must address in this draft:
QB(too bad Kurt Warner no longer looks human), OLB rush lb(Joey Porter is their best one) and CB(Rogers-Cromartie has fallen off a cliff).

Cleveland Browns:
3 players that they’re targeting(probably) with their 1st pick:
Julio Jones and AJ Green(both are clear need picks for them), Robert Quinn(he is a good fit for their defense). They are another team that needs to swing for the fences and get a perennial all-star from this pick.
3 players they should avoid:
Patrick Peterson-not on talent, just a waste after taking Haden last year
Ryan Mallet-bad fit for their WC offense
Cam Newton-(see Mallet, Ryan).
3 positions that they must address in this draft:
WR, DE, OLB. They’re totally overhauling the defense, only they lack the talent for their new front 7. That being said, I expect them to not be able to pass on Green or Jones since they have next to nothing at WR.

San Francisco 49ers
3 players that they’re targeting(probably) with their 1st pick:
Julio Jones(Crabtree isn’t a possession guy), Blaine Gabbert(If he makes it here, I doubt they hesitate on taking him), Patrick Peterson(Nate Clements might be the biggest FA bust ever). Harbaugh has a lot of leash with the franchise thanks to his Stanford days and his brother’s success. He can build for 2013 frankly.
3 players they should avoid:
Robert Quinn-another bad fit
Ryan Mallet-Harbaugh’s offense requires mobility
Prince Amukarama-isn’t physical enough for them imo
3 positions that they must address in this draft:
QB, CB and WR. Like I said Harbaugh has some leash here, so the solution to filling the QB spot might be rolling with Alex Smith and hoping for Andrew Luck in a year.

Tennessee Titans
3 players that they’re targeting(probably) with their 1st pick:
Ryan Mallet(from what I understand, they legitimately like him), Prince Amukarama(their secondary is slowing down) and Nick Fairley(although they might prefer to just deal for Haynesworth).
3 players they should avoid:
Nick Fairley-Jim Washburn ain’t there anymore
Cam Newton-Vince Young on line 2
Ryan Mallet-they probably don’t need to waste a top 10 pick on him
3 positions that they must address in this draft:
QB, OG, DT. They don’t have a QB worth a damn, and their run defense hasn’t recovered from losing Haynesworth. Also, their OGs are slipping, so that needs to be addressed.

Dallas Cowboys
3 players that they’re targeting(probably) with their 1st pick:
Tyron Smith, Anthony Castonzo, Prince Amukarama. The Cowboys need a Day 1 starter from a limited pool of starting spots and barring a trade down it should be one of these three prospects.
3 players they should avoid:
Nick Fairley-the Cowboys are barely tolerating Dez Bryant, and Fairley won’t have as much of an impact
Aldon Smith-On talent, he might make some sense, but he’s not physical enough to be primarily a 5 tech
Adrian Clayborn-he might make some sense to replace Olshansky, but he’s another player who needs a disciplined team
3 positions that they must address in this draft:
CB, OT and RB. The Cowboys have deeper problem that just an overrated roster/coaching staff. They need to replace their disasters of OTs and get Mike Jenkins framed for a major felony.

Washington Redskins
3 players that they’re targeting(probably) with their 1st pick:
Mike Pouncey(they need interior Oline help badly), Colin Kaepernick(with a trade down, which looks likely) and Aldon Smith(who would team with Jarmon at DE and play a lot of OLB).
3 players they should avoid:
Leonard Hankerson-they really don’t need to replace an inconsistent X WR in Santana Moss with another
Ryan Mallet-golden arm, but he isn’t mobile enough for that offense
Tyron Smith-drafting an OT would just be treading water for them
3 positions that they must address in this draft:
QB, Interior Oline and Defensive front 7. The Redskins need two starters in their first 2 picks, and it looks pretty clear that they’re targeting a Qb with one of them. On top of that, both lines need help.

Houston Texans
3 players that they’re targeting(probably) with their 1st pick:
Prince Amukarama, Patrick Peterson(which would require a trade up) and Phil Taylor. Its all about reinforcing their defense in Houston. Even if they weren’t switching to Phillips’ 3-4, their secondary was a total wreck in ’10. They need to grab a top flight CB prospect.
3 players they should avoid:
Aldon Smith-With Williams and their bevy of LBs, the last thing they need is another. This is treading water for them
Nick Fairley-No position in their defense
Cameron Jordan-See Aldon Smith
3 positions that they must address in this draft:
CB, FS, NT. They need to fix that secondary above all else.

Minnesota Vikings
3 players that they’re targeting(probably) with their 1st pick:
Ryan Mallet, Mike Pouncey, Tyron Smith. Houston’s mirror image. Its all about fixing their offense from the Brett Favre era.
3 players they should avoid:
Nick Fairley-they might be tempted to replace Pat Williams with him, but how does that make them significantly better?
Leonard Hankerson-I have no problem with move on talent, but only if you’re sure Sidney Rice is bolting.
Any other defensive player-They need to fix that Oline and QB spot. Any defender is not going to help that team out significantly im
3 positions that they must address in this draft:
QB, RG, LT. Favre is gone, they need to show McKinnie the door also(maybe flip him to Indy?)

Detroit Lions
3 players that they’re targeting(probably) with their 1st pick:
Da’quan Bowers, Mark Ingram and Derek Sherrod. Taking Bowers here, even with my criticism of him aside, is Millen-esque. They have massive needs elsewhere. Ingram makes more sense, Sherrod would fill a major need.
3 players they should avoid:
Daquan Bowers-He may thrive with Suh drawing blocking help, but it does little to help them out.
Nick Fairley-See Bowers
Gabe Carimi-More of a RT, they have that position set for now.
3 positions that they must address in this draft:
LT, CB, FS. Detroit took some steps forward thanks to Suh’s play, but they still need to frame Jeff Backus for a hobo murder and get some talent into that secondary.

St Louis Rams
3 players that they’re targeting(probably) with their 1st pick:
Leonard Hankerson(makes a lot of sense, even if Mark Clayton is healthy), Akeem Ayers(he’ll look faster on that turf) and JJ Watt(makes some sense since Spags likes versatile DLinemen). They don’t need a full time starter like other teams, but they need at least a contributor who’ll help. I could buy a RB to split time with Jackson also.
3 players they should avoid:
Jimmy Smith-they need a CB, but they shouldn’t reach for him
Kyle Rudolph-McDaniels’ offense greatly deemphasizes the TE spot.
Any OT unless they’re planning on dealing Jason Smith
3 positions that they must address in this draft:
CB, WR and FS. Losing Atogwe for salary reasons really stings their defense. They need to make that up with a quality FS to replace him or upgrading the CB spots.

Miami Dolphins
3 players that they’re targeting(probably) with their 1st pick:
Andy Dalton, Christian Ponder, Mark Ingram. Its all about the offense in Miami. They need to replace their skill position talent in the backfield.
3 players they should avoid:
Leonard Hankerson-They’re going to be very tempted by him, but he does little to help imo.
Kyle Rudolph-On talent, he almost certainly helps. But they should get a guy who can throw it more than someone who can catch it.
Derek Sherrod-Another treading water pick.
3 positions that they must address in this draft:
QB, RB, OG. It’s still all about the offense for Miami. They need to come out of the draft with a Qb of the future and someone—either via trade or draft—to replace Ronnie Brown.

Jacksonville Jaguars
3 players that they’re targeting(probably) with their 1st pick:
Ryan Mallet, Rodney Hudson, Leonard Hankerson. It must be an epidemic in Florida: their offenses just suck lol.
3 players they should avoid:
Daquan Bowers-They have a strong group of DTs, but they’ve recently seen what happens when you take an overrated DE high.
3 positions that they must address in this draft:
OG, WR and FS. I don’t know why they would be considering replacing Garrard, but they are, and it’ll be Del Rio’s ass if they do. *gets on my soapbox* if they really want to replace Garrard with a guy who’ll sell tickets/jerseys, why not offer Garrard or some combo of picks/players to Denver for Tim Tebow?

Oakland Raiders
3 players that they’re targeting(probably) with their 1st pick:
Jake Locker(does it make sense? Nope), Torrey Smith(another UMD burner), Sheriff Rick Grimes(zombie killer to take out Al Davis). Since the Raiders can’t hurt themselves in the 1st round this year, they’re going to take someone completely unexpected in 2nd.
3 players they should avoid:
Mikel LeShoure-Do they need another RB?
Any big armed Qb project
Any doctors who can extend Al Davis’ life.
3 positions that they must address in this draft:
GM, Head coach, OL. Need I say more?

San Diego Chargers
3 players that they’re targeting(probably) with their 1st pick:
Anthony Castonzo, Aldon Smith, Cameron Jordan. Its about both lines for the bolts, the Vincent Jackson situation notwithstanding. They let up a ton of sacks last year and need to replace Merriman and Olshanky on the defense.
3 players they should avoid:
Martez Wilson-Their defense is more about discipline, and while I like Wilson, he’s a physical project not a disciplined player
Ryan Kerrigan-I’m not down on him, but I don’t think that he would make a good fit in their defense at all. Too slow and can’t cover.
Marvin Austin-He could bulk up and play NT for them, but they need more than a project.
3 positions that they must address in this draft:
RT, LB and DL. Besides the holes that they already have, they have a lot of defensive free agents(whenever FA begins)

New York Giants
3 players that they’re targeting(probably) with their 1st pick:
Derek Sherrod, Anthony Castanzo, Cameron Jordan. If the 2010 season taught them anything, it’s that they need to protect Fredo Manning. Diehl might need to move inside, they still haven’t found the right player at RT either.
3 players they should avoid:
Martez Wilson-I don’t know what he brings that Boley doesn’t.
Quinton Carter-He’s a fine player, but they’re getting Kenny Phillips back and they still have Rolle.
JJ Watt-I like Watt, but he’s no different than someone like Chris Canty.
3 positions that they must address in this draft:
OT, RB, outside CB. They need to fix that oline first, then worry about their issues with Brandon Jacobs, Bradshaw and Corey Webster.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers
3 players that they’re targeting(probably) with their 1st pick:
Rodney Hudson, Daquan Bowers and Adrian Clayborn. Its about the lines with the Bucs. They found their Qb and think that they figured out their defensive back 7. They need a real threat at pass rusher and they need to replace or support Davin Joseph on the interior line.
3 players they should avoid:
Daquan Bowers-Gaines Adams on line 2 for you. Only he was much more accomplished a player.
Jimmy Smith-Aqib Talib worked out so well for them.
JJ Watt-Not really a 4-3 DE and probably not good fit in their defensive scheme at DT. Marvin Austin would make more sense.
3 positions that they must address in this draft:
DE, OG and CB. Aqib Talib is a goner from Tampa after this latest incident, Ronde Barber is getting old. CB is now a major priority for them, but they won’t take someone with any off the field problems.

Kansas City Chiefs
3 players that they’re targeting(probably) with their 1st pick:
Ryan Kerrigan, Leonard Hankerson, Marcus Cannon. Outside needing a pass rusher(or if Big Phil Taylor drops here), they need to address their offensive issues.
3 players they should avoid:
Martez Wilson-bad fit for their defense imo
Akeem Ayers-Also a bad fit since they’re set at ILB and Ayers doesn’t have the pass rush ability to replace Hali.
Kyle Rudolph-They seem to be fine at TE and this would he treading water
3 positions that they must address in this draft:
OLB rusher, X WR, OG. So much of their offseason depends on the status of Tamba Hali. If he’s staying, X WR is the big priority. If not, they need an edge rusher more than anything.

Indianapolis Colts
3 players that they’re targeting(probably) with their 1st pick:
Gabe Carimi, Nate Solder, Marvin Austin. Its about the lines for them. The LT issues really hurt the Colts’ season, and according to all reports, they’re after Tommie Harris and/or Albert Haynesworth to reinforce the DT spot for one last run with Peyton.
3 players they should avoid:
Quinton Carter-they’re going to be very tempted to replace Sanders with another FS. They should pass.
Daquan Bowers-They don’t need a project DE with bad wheels
Any “heir apparent” to Peyton Manning. Don’t pick that scab. Just don’t do it.
3 positions that they must address in this draft:
LT, DT, RB(if Addai bolts). Like I said: its all about the lines. They need to protect Peyton and protect Mathis/Freeney.

Philadelphia Eagles
3 players that they’re targeting(probably) with their 1st pick:
Marcus Cannon, Gabe Carimi, Nick Fairley. The one caveat is that the Eagles won’t be able to pass on any speed rusher available here, even if they have about 1100 of them under contract lol.
3 players they should avoid:
Justin Houston-Not an OLB, not a 4-3 rusher. And he’d be about 7th on the depth chart
Brooks Reid-See above
Corey Liuget-Don’t they have enough part time guys at DT anyways?
3 positions that they must address in this draft:
OT, OG, QB. Kolb is gone, either by trade or by free agency, soon. Above all else, they’re going to have to keep Vick upright. He can’t take the pounding and their oline is a wreck now.

New Orleans Saints
3 players that they’re targeting(probably) with their 1st pick:
Cameron Jordan, Daquan Bowers, Mark Ingram. They are, according to all reports(which I find plausible), targeting a Defensive end to take over for The Smiths or a RB to replace Reggie Bush.
3 players they should avoid:
Stephen Paea-they don’t need an undersized 1 gapper if they go DT, they need a big body to team with Ellis. If Fairley is here, they should snap him up.
Marvin Austin-they need more of a ready to play starter.
Robert Sands-Hard to say where he’ll go, but I don’t think he’s a good fit at all for the Saints—unless they move him to WLB
3 positions that they must address in this draft:
DT, RB, OT. I don’t think that DE is as big an issue for the Saints, they need an upgrade at DT and RB far more. They also need to fix their RT spot.

Seattle Seahawks
3 players that they’re targeting(probably) with their 1st pick:
Jake Locker, Andy Dalton, Gabe Carimi. Another team that needs to fix their offense. Hasselback is on his last legs, Clipboard Jesus is really good with the clipboard. They want to trade down out of this spot and go after a Qb in the early 2nd.
3 players they should avoid:
Jake Locker-They’ll sell more tickets/jerseys due to his local connections, but he’s an awful fit for what they want to do.
Ryan Kerrigan-they have enough DEs to begin with, this would be a waste.
Ricky Stanzi/Christian Ponder-I like both of these guys, but their lack of arm strength(same as Locker) would be a problem in the Seattle weather.
3 positions that they must address in this draft:
QB, RB, OL. They have a pretty solid defense(Lawyer Milloy needs to be replaced), but they aren’t going to survive if they don’t fix that offense.

Baltimore Ravens
3 players that they’re targeting(probably) with their 1st pick:
Adrian Clayborn, JJ Watt, Muhammed Wilkerson. Their strategy is pretty clear: get a 5 tech to team with Ngata and Gregg.
3 players they should avoid:
Ryan Kerrigan-where does he play?
Muhammed Wilkerson-Very inconsistent player in a defense that demands consistency.
Marvin Austin-Why bother with Cody on the bench?
3 positions that they must address in this draft:
LT, WR and ILB. So why are they going after a 5 tech? Who knows. Oher needs to be on the right, Mason needs to be cut and Ray Ray is almost done done.

Atlanta Falcons
3 players that they’re targeting(probably) with their 1st pick:
Daquan Bowers, Rodney Hudson, Quinton Carter. Its about getting those supplementary players for a very talented roster. Bowers would make sense here, but they won’t pass on Hudson imo.
3 players they should avoid:
Daquan Bowers-they can do much better
Akeem Ayers-they might consider him, but he’s not physical enough for their defense
Corey Liuget-I understand why they might consider a DT, but go with Austin or Guy.
3 positions that they must address in this draft:
OG, TE, DL. They’re going to need right side OL replacements with FA defections. Also, a replacement for Gonzo will be needed.

New England Patriots
3 players that they’re targeting(probably) with their 1st pick:
Phil Taylor, Mark Ingram, Leonard Hankerson. The Pats’ need are clear: they need an outside and a pass rush. Taylor could play 5 tech for them and spell Wilfolk along with helping tie up blockers for the pass rush. Ingram is the complete back they’ve missed since Dillon retired.
3 players they should avoid:
Akeem Ayers-They already have a slow, smart player at ILB in Spikes
Martez Wilson-his physical gifts will get him a look, but he’s had issues with the mental parts of the game
Any QB heir apparent to Brady. Like with Manning, don’t pick this scab.
3 positions that they must address in this draft:
OLB edge rusher, 5 tech, outside WR. They have a ton of picks to move up with also.

Chicago Bears
3 players that they’re targeting(probably) with their 1st pick:
Nate Solder, Gabe Carimi, Marvin Austin. Anther team that is going to look to improving their lines. Despite Martz’ adjustments, they need some real talent at LT and cutting Tommie Harris leaves a big hole at DT.
3 players they should avoid:
Nate Solder-Looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane.
Torrey Smith-if Martz has any say, they’ll go after a WR since they really don’t have much there. Without a LT, its pointless.
Any weak armed QB with an eye to trading Cutler. First off, they shouldn’t trade cutler. Secondly, with their weather conditions a strong armed QB is critical.
3 positions that they must address in this draft:
OT, DT, WR. If they come out of this draft without a viable starter at LT, they deserve an F as their grade.

New York Jets
3 players that they’re targeting(probably) with their 1st pick:
Muhammed Wilkerson, JJ Watt, Martez Wilson. With Shaun Ellis a UFA, and a lot of their OLBs aging or free agents, they need reinforcement. Also, Bart Scott’s mouth ain’t backing up his play anymore.
3 players they should avoid:
Muhammed Wilkerson-see previous reasons
Justin Houston-Not quite Gholston, but there are a lot of legitimate concerns about his game translating to the NFL
Cameron Heyward: another very inconsistent player that won’t fit in a defense that demands consistency.
3 positions that they must address in this draft:
5 tech, OLB, WR. With so many free agents at these positions, they’re going to have to make decisions on who stays/goes.

Pittsburgh Steelers
3 players that they’re targeting(probably) with their 1st pick:
Joseph Barksdale, Stefen Wisniewski, Quinton Carter. Oline is the priority, but if they aren’t sold on any prospects available there, Carter makes the most sense since Ryan Clark is falling apart.
3 players they should avoid:
Akeem Ayers-I understand going after a lb to replace Farrior down the line, but its not a priority high.
Quan Sturdivant-See Ayers
Robert Sands-if Carter is gone, maybe, but they could probably wait on taking him.
3 positions that they must address in this draft:
OL, OL, OL. Yes, its that simple.

Green Bay Packers
3 players that they’re targeting(probably) with their 1st pick:
JJ Watt, Lawrence Guy, Joseph Barksdale. Their biggest issue is replacing Cullen Jenkins(I don’t believe that they’re going to pay him what he’s demanding). Watt and Guy make a lot of sense for what they want to do.
3 players they should avoid:
Cameron Heyward-See previous comment
Marvin Austin-Johnny Jolly on line 3 lol
Brooks Reid-I loves me some Brooks Reid, but where does he play? He’s stuck behind established players.
3 positions that they must address in this draft:
5 tech, RT(move Bulaga to LT to replace Clifton), WR. If they go Oline or WR in the first, I would read that to mean that they’re going to try to resign Jenkins. They need a RT starter and a WR of the future with Jones almost certainly leaving and Driver running out of gas.

Questions: I solicited questions, and got these(any team specific questions will be answered elsewhere):
Q:would you rather take a chance on which player and why. greg mcelroy, greg little, jimmy smith, marvin austin, noel devine?

A: McElroy is the only one without major personal questions or off the field incidents. I’d rather take a chance with him and try to tailor an offense to his strengths than deal with known liars like Smith, Austin or Greg Little.

Q: what do you think of blaine sommers and frank kearse as possible nose tackles late?
A: Both are late round/UDF guys, but I wouldn’t expect much from either long term.

Q: what one team do you think will doom themselves with a specific pick – not necessarily the player, but the team making a really bad decision for what they actually need?

A: Dallas. Despite all the pillow fluffing from ESPN et al about the Cowboys’ drafts year in and year out, they never seem to get much return from their picks and they pass on clearly superior players for Jeruh’s loves.

Q: which team do you think will make the overall worst picks for what they actually need?
A: Cincinnati. I’m 100% sure that they’ll botch everything this year.

Q: you have the ability to remove one player of your choice from this year’s draft, for hilarity’s/chaos’ sake. your pick?
A: AJ Green. He’s the fulcrum of this draft, taking him out would lead to pure chaos.

Q: you are transported into jerry jones’ body for pick #9 (aside: you get to drink half a bottle of bourbon to allow yourself to endure being jerry for the 10 minutes on the clock). what pick do you make to sabotage the team?
A: Cam Newton.

Q:Could you please give the best and worst case senarios as it relates to player examples for the following QBs?

(Ex. Cam Newton – Best Case – Ben Roethlessburger worst case – Jammarcus Russell & Vince Young love child)

A:
Cam Newton: Best case: he goes to a team that sits him for a couple years behind a vet who garners respect and he becomes a mobile version of Byron Leftwich. Worst case: Vince Young with more issues.

Blaine Gabbert: Best case: less mobile Josh Freeman with a bigger arm. Worst case: Kerry Collins

Andy Dalton: Best case: A low rent player somewhere between Drew Brees and McNabb. Worst case: a higher talent Chase Daniel.

Jake Locker: Best case: A good Qb coach gets ahold of him and makes him into a lower talent Jake Plummer. Worst case: Chase Daniel.

Christian Ponder: best case: Chad Pennington with a slightly better arm. Worst case: Chris Redman

Ryan Mallett: Best case: Joe Flacco. Worst case: Derek Anderson

Colin Kaepernick: Best case: More mobile Josh Freeman. Worst case: Vince Young without the immaturity.

Q: Is there going to be a lot of trading of picks if the GMs can’t deal players?
A: I would guess that there will, only with picks and handshake deals involving players(and players’ rights) to be consummated after the lockout is lifted.

Q: What team is going to shake up the first round with a trade?
A: The Pats. They have the firepower and clear needs(which they even seem to admit to). I think that they’re going to deal up into that 9-12 range for a defender like Phil Taylor or Aldon Smith.

Q: Will the lockout effect how teams draft?
A: Absolutely. Without that 8 weeks of free agency, teams are probably going to prioritize—in the first 3 rounds at least imo—players who are more ready to play in the NFL over projects who need to sit for awhile.
